On August 10th, a Tuesday, at 4:45 PM, the Marshalltown store had it’s ribbon cutting! On the anniversary of the Derecho that swept through the Midwest, one year prior to the date, Marshalltown got to celebrate their re-opening in downtown Marshalltown; their original location first occupied here in Marshalltown in 1928.
Three years prior, the town dealt with a devastating tornado that swept through the North end of Marshalltown. Two weeks turned into two months which ultimately turned into two full years of repairs and renovations. Finally after two years, Erin McGregor and her staff were ready to move back to their original building, and that’s when the derecho hit, three years from the ribbon cutting.
Finally caught up, opened, and running, the Marshalltown store was able to have their ribbon cutting. Come in and see how the new store looks!
